Salzburg: Sunday morning concert

Sunday Morning Promenade Concert

Slept in, had breakfast of apples and cake (let them eat cake) and walked out to the Orangerie and sat down to wait for the Promenade concert. At 10:30, the band (orchestra) of the Salzburg municipal staff marched in, raising thoughts of On The Razzle (but these musicians were in neat blue blazers). They were to play seven pieces, but after two pieces, the rain was falling so heavily that the concert had to be abandoned. Pity, because they were good.

Incidentally, we did not discover until we returned much later that the hotel supplies an umbrella in the closet for the use of its guests, so rain is not an uncommon happening in Salzburg.
