Back and neck assembly
The first step was to glue the neck/peghead assembly onto the face, in the jig.

I didn't get any of the sides the exact lenght: I always had to trim a little from the ends to allow the neck to be inserted between the ends of the side-strip. Notice the gap between the neck assembly and the face-piece (which is under the assembly in this photo): this had to be filled with a piece of scrap ripped to the correct thickness.
Then the back could be glued onto the whole thing, with weights put all over the back until the glue had dried. But at least I was not using the jig, which could be used to start the next mandolin.
