Peghead

Each peghead is built up from a central piece of 1"x2", angled at 45 degrees, and two pieces ripped from a similar length of 1"x2". There is no stress rod: but I did use a 2" screw (Robertson socket head, of course) to assist the glue in securing the peghead to the neck at a 45 degree angle into the endgrain.

A little fancy work with the scroll saw to shape each peghead and then each was ready to have eight peg-holes drilled on the drill press. Then I filled in the "pocket" over the screw-head with water-based wood filler.
