Introduction

One of the delights of doing a period play is the research needed. Perhaps "research" is too strong a word: it's just finding out what clothing, styles and artifacts were in use during that period, and then creating costumes and props that give the appearance of that period. Note that the props need not be perfect reproductions: they need only create the impression of that era and that location.

This section shows some of the period props that I have made, mainly for The Heiress which is set in New York in 1850.
